Cashmere is overused as a word and underused as a cloth. Most things called cashmere are not quite, or are blended, or are processed in ways that strip out the qualities that made the fibre worth having in the first place. This gown is 100% cashmere, and the difference is immediately apparent to the hand.
The brown is a deep, warm chocolate — not caramel, not tan, but properly dark and rich. It is the kind of colour that ages well and looks better after a few years than it does new.
The Lounge Gown cut. Long, wide lapels, a proper belt, two patch pockets. The drape is quite different from flannel. It moves differently. It is a different proposition entirely.
A cashmere dressing gown at this quality is not a frequent purchase. It is also the sort of thing that can be owned for twenty years without becoming tired.
